Situations For Sax: Smooth Jazz – Easy Listening – 1980s is the third full length album by composer-producer Stefano Torossi and Pizzale. Their first collaboration was Music Service, Vol. 21 for Bella Musica in 1995.

In 2011, Claudio Pizzale, Roberto Masala, and Stefano Torossi released Ethnometropolis: Multicultural Metropolitan Soundtrack for Deneb Records–all three currently available as digital downloads in most markets from both Amazon and iTunes. Pizzale, a veteran session man who plays the saxophone, piano, and classical guitar, among other instruments, also composes and sings.

Claudio “Chato” Pizzale and Stefano Torossi collaborated on several songs previously on compilations for Fonit Cetra/Rai Trade and ExtraBall Records. “Pompeiana,” with R. Petteruti, on Commenti musicali: Musica d’epoca – Prehistoria e storia antica (1993) and “Wild Wind,” “Time Is Money, and “Easy Life,” on Commenti musicali: Young Music – Young Ideas (1993), were all produced by Torossi.

The three composers also had a track, “Ave Maria,” selected for the just-released Capocolonna luce dell’anima (2014) compilation CD of traditional songs inspired by liturgical texts and traditions associated with the devotion to the Virgin Mary. The album also features a previously unreleased composition from Tina and Valeria Nicoletta, “Mira il tuo popolo,” that was arranged by Luca Proietti.

“Aggressione” and “Faccia di bronzo,” a pair of tracks by Giancarlo Gazzani featuring Sandro Brugnolini and Stefano Torossi from their withdrawn Musica per commenti sonori album for Costanza Records, have appeared on the Internet for the first time in the last ten days.

“Aggressione” and “Faccia di bronzo” were part of the 9-track album Giancarlo Gazzani recorded with Sandro Brugnolini and Stefano Torossi in Milan and Rome between February and July 1974. The album was directed and arranged by Gazzani.
