Mortimer and Alexander were raking leaves and doing a thorough clean up of the yard.
"I think we better bag the last of these leaves, I don't think we want ashes blowing over the rest of the yard." Alexander said as he gathered up another pile of leaves.
"As soon as I finish trimming this rose bush I'll go get some bags." replied Mortimer

But as he went into the house he heard the doorbell ringing non-stop so he answered the door.
Dina Caliente barged in as soon as the door opened and started yelling,
"You told me you'd never remarry! You said I didn't have a chance with you because you still LOVED Bella." She was in hysterics,
"But now I hear gossip all over town that you are planning a
secret wedding!"

"This has nothing to do with you Dina!" Mortimer hollered back.
"When I told you I wasn't interested in you I meant it. Now please leave I'm very busy at the moment."
"Oh NO you don't," Dina stamped her foot, "If you are going to
marry anyone it's going to be me! I saw you first! I listened to
all your sob stories about Bella, I deserve my reward for all
that hard work."

"I'm not the one getting married!" Mortimer stated.
"What? Now you're going to try and convince me that Cassandra's the one getting married."
Dina yelled, "I know that's a lie! She broke up with Don over a month ago."
"Thank the stars for that miracle!" said Mortimer, "Now get out of my house this conversation is OVER!"
"This isn't the last of it, I'll sue you! You'll be hearing from my lawyer!" Dina said as she stormed out of the house.

Mortimer calmed down pretty quickly once she left. In fact he was laughing hysterically when he went back outside to help Alexander with the leaf piles.
He was still giggling to himself as he gathered the fresh tomatoes for the salad tonight.
"You'll be hearing from my lawyer. Ha ha ha ha ha!" Mortimer laughed aloud,
"Wait till she hears the truth!"

When Cassandra got home that day Sterling was waiting out front for her.
"I thought our date was later tonight?" she said.
"It is but I have to ask you something first." Sterling was a little nervous all the plans were made and this was the moment that determined if it was all worthwhile or a big waste of time.

Sterling went down on one knee and quickly pulled out the ring.
"Oh, My" Cassandra exclaimed.
"Before you answer you need to know that this isn't a someday question. If you say YES... and I HOPE with all my heart you will... it means we change right now and get married tonight."
"Tonight? No waiting? No planning? Just get married?" She asked with a shaky voice.
"If you'll have me, that's the idea." He said giving her a wink.

"I love you!" she said as she threw herself into his embrace.
"That's not technically a yes, but I'm not letting you get out
of it now." He said as he swung her around.
Then he placed her back on her feet and sent her upstairs to where Mary-Sue was waiting to help her get dressed for the wedding.
