Things didn’t go very well on Dustin’s date with Angela.
First there was her hair, she had pulled it back and braided some type of ribbon in it. But whatever gel or styling product she had used to hold it all in place had darkened her hair considerably and it looked like dirty rust instead of the red he was used to.
Then there was the rest of her outfit, even though she had a strapless dress something normally considered sexy, he could only describe it as boring.

In fact boring seemed to be the theme for the evening. He found it difficult to concentrate as she rattled on about all of her classes and Professors.
"I know what first year is like, Angela. I went through that stuff already. You don’t have to explain it to me." He commented as she started to explain why she was so loaded with class work already.
"Well, you were only taking your General Ed coursed I’ve already declared my major and am taking some of those classes as well." Angela pointed out.

Things didn’t get any better even when she switched from talking about school to chatting about family.
"Being a big sister is so important. I’m planning on going home at least once a month to visit them. I know Mary-Jane and Betty-Sue will miss me too much if I don’t." she said.
Dustin didn’t even bother reminding her about what Beau had done when he had stayed away too long. Did she forget that he had little brothers and a sister too?

After dinner when Angela suggested that they go see the latest romance film at the theatre Dustin finally spoke up.
"I’m not really into romance films. How about we go night fishing instead?" He asked.
With thoughts of cuddling under the stars in her head Angela had agreed. But after an hour of dealing with slimy fingers from placing worms on the hook and getting the hook stuck in her hair more than just a few times. Angela realized that this wasn’t the romantic evening she had envisioned.

Dustin had tried to teach Angela how to fish, but he gave it up as a hopeless cause after the third time she got the hook stuck in her hair.
He was just beginning to think that the entire night was going to be a complete disaster when he felt a tug on his line.
"Oh wow! Look at the size of this one, Angela" He exclaimed excitedly as he held up his catch.
"Can we go home now?" was her only response.
